The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation are an Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) people who live near Brantford in southwestern Ontario, Canada. They have a reserve called New Credit, which covers about 6,000 acres of land and is adjacent to the Six Nations of the Grand River reserve. Their traditional territory extended from the Rouge River Valley westward to the Thames River, and from Long Point on Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. Today, they have a population of about 2,731 members, of whom 957 live on reserve.
